Liberty loses UK ‘snooper’s charter’ challenge

The High Court of England and Wales has ruled that legislation which allows intelligence services to indiscriminately collect UK citizens’ data is compatible with the European Convention on Human Rights – despite the government’s recent disclosure that MI5 abused its powers under the UK law.
