Arjun Khurana is a partner at G&W Legal. He chairs the firm’s tech, media and IP practice, leading on emerging issues and dispute resolution. He currently sits on INTA’s Data Protection Committee and is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Arjun counsels corporations at the intersection of tech and the law; guides clients through the changing data protection and privacy regime in India; acts on complex cross-border technology transactions and data transfer arrangements; conducts data transfer impact assessments; handles complex investigations involving online fraud, phishing, identity theft and recruitment scams, advising clients on crisis comms as well as enforcement; advises on advertising and marketing law; and represents clients in commercial disputes. He has significant experience helping businesses navigate the Indian legal landscape.
Notably, Arjun represents one of the world’s largest media networks in highvalue litigation; advises online streaming platforms; advises an internet giant in connection with its adtech business as well as data protection and reporting obligations; regularly designs privacy and data protection policy frameworks for clients; advises an international non-profit on issues arising from dealing with government data in India; counsels a global tech powerhouse on all aspects of its digital markets vertical; and assists corporations on various aspects of operating online and digital businesses in India. He recently advised a client on privacy, surveillance and data protection related implications of smart camera-monitoring, and guided a tech company looking to set up an esports and gaming portal.
Arjun is a member of the IAPP, INTA, MARQUES and the Bar Council of India, and has been ranked in the WTR1000 Enforcement and Litigation – Individuals category. He recently co-authored the India chapters for ICLG’s Digital Business 2022, as well as Global Investigations Review’s Data Privacy & Transfer in Investigations.
