She is a distinguished and reliable pioneer in the field of data protection, possessing extensive experience, unique insights and hands-on leadership. She set up a dedicated compliance team for the firm in August 2020.
Ms Yang has rich experience and expertise in dealing with unprecedented, complicated and cross-jurisdictional data protection matters. In the past year, she has assisted Chinese central enterprises and internet giants in developing response systems compatible with both international and Chinese requirements in respect of complex compliance issues during overseas expansions to almost 20 jurisdictions. She has also assisted many clients in applying for the security assessment of, and the preparation and filing of, standard contracts for outbound data transfer.
Ms Yang has been invited by various regulatory authorities as a legal expert to comment on draft legislative documents and to share practice experience. Using her wisdom gained from practice, she contributes to the drafting of legislative documents and national standards and to cross-industry discussions on data protection issues. She also inspires and guides her clients to the best approaches to data compliance by bringing her insights gained from legislative and academic activities.
