I’ve been very lucky and have worked with great female colleagues and clients throughout my career. People say data is the new oil. Why would you not want to be involved in managing such a vital asset?
I’ve just been appointed partner, which is a delight and an honour. I was probably one of only a handful of people in the world who was interested in data privacy back in 2003, and I never imagined that I would be able to focus my practice on it – but I am, which is wonderful.
I am following the rise of data management in Asia: it is not the same as the GDPR, and the law is not harmonised across the continent; but get the compliance framework right and the opportunities (for data analytics and AI in particular) in Asia are enormous. It’s an exciting place to work.
