My biggest challenge, like a lot of female lawyers, may be work-life balance due to excessive workload and pressure. However, my family is quite supportive of my work and I am able to reach a balance between both sides.
My greatest career accomplishment comes from the positive feedback from my clients and also the acknowledgement from my colleagues, especially in data compliance, which is a novel and emerging field with unmeasurable potentials to be explored.
Healthcare data compliance and artificial intelligence are probably the most important trends I am currently following ... healthcare is traditionally a highly regulated industry in the majority of countries, while the supervision and regulation of artificial intelligence is just about to get started. Uncertainties are still hanging there, and I would expect to see how things will go.
In China, gender is usually not a determinative factor in setting pay, but I have to admit that female lawyers tend to encounter more obstacles in promotion to partner or senior partner than our male counterparts.
